Quellen & Standards

This page explains how Wirtschaftsquelle.de selects, verifies and presents the information we publish. Our sourcing and editorial standards are designed to deliver trustworthy Swedish journalism that helps readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact‑checked before publication, and we are transparent about the methods and people behind our work.

What sources do we rely on day to day?

We rely on primary documents, official data, original interviews and verified eyewitness accounts, supplemented by wire services and reputable secondary sources. Our reporters and editors – from Politikredaktör Matthias Horn to Wirtschaftreporter Julia Becker – are instructed to use government records, parliamentary transcripts, court filings, statistics from agencies such as Statistiska centralbyrån, and direct statements from named individuals. When we use secondary material, we attribute the original source and, where possible, link to it. Our fact‑checking desk, led by Christina Scholz, verifies every factual claim against multiple independent sources before publication. AI‑assisted tools may support research or drafting but never replace human judgement; all editorial content is reviewed by a human editor. For more detail on our verification process, see our Fact‑Checking Policy and Editorial Policy.

How can you challenge our reporting?

If you believe we have made an error, you can contact our corrections desk directly at corrections@wirtschaftsquelle.de or follow our formal complaints procedure. We take every challenge seriously. Our Corrections Policy outlines how we investigate, correct and update articles when mistakes are identified. For more serious concerns about editorial conduct or breaches of our standards, we have a Complaints Procedure that is handled independently by Chefredaktör Daniel Simon. We also encourage readers to send tips and document submissions to tips@wirtschaftsquelle.de – every tip is acknowledged and reviewed by the relevant editor.

What you can expect from us

You can expect transparency about who owns us, how we are funded, and how commercial relationships are managed. Wirtschaftsquelle.de is published by Wirtschaftsq Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), with a registered office in Valletta. Our funding comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. Sponsored or commercial material is always clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed. No commercial relationship determines editorial conclusions. For full details, see our Ownership & Funding and Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure pages.

Who is responsible for what we publish?

Ultimate editorial responsibility rests with Chefredaktör Daniel Simon (anders.lindqvist@wirtschaftsquelle.de), who sets editorial standards, makes final publication decisions and oversees corrections. The daily newsroom is managed by Redaktionschef Sandra Groß (karin.bergstrom@wirtschaftsquelle.de), who commissions articles and reviews headlines. Politikredaktör Matthias Horn (johan.eriksson@wirtschaftsquelle.de) covers the Riksdag, government and municipal politics. Wirtschaftreporter Julia Becker (sofia.nystrom@wirtschaftsquelle.de) focuses on the economy, markets and household finance. Kultur‑ och samhällsredaktör Christian Lange (erik.holmberg@wirtschaftsquelle.de) handles culture, lifestyle and society. Fact‑checking is led by Christina Scholz (emma.sandberg@wirtschaftsquelle.de), who is also responsible for source verification and issuing corrections. Each article is signed by a named writer and reviewed by at least one editor before publication. Meet the full team on our Our Team page or get in touch via Contact.

How do we handle mistakes?

We correct errors promptly and transparently, appending a correction notice to the article that explains what was wrong and what has been changed. Readers can report suspected errors to corrections@wirtschaftsquelle.de or to any named editor. The corrections desk, under Christina Scholz, investigates each claim; if an error is confirmed, the article is updated and a note is added at the top or bottom of the text. Significant corrections are also noted in our weekly newsletter. For more on how we manage corrections, read our Corrections Policy. We also maintain a public log of major corrections on request.

What is our stance on AI use?

We use AI‑assisted tools only to support research, drafting, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries and transcription. No AI system is ever allowed to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles. Every piece of published editorial content is reviewed and approved by a human editor. Our AI & Automation Policy sets out the specific guidelines our staff follow, including mandatory disclosure when AI has been used in the drafting process. The editorial judgement – what to cover, how to frame it, which sources to trust – remains entirely human.
