What makes a good tip?

A good tip is specific, verifiable and in the public interest. It might concern a proposed law in the Riksdag, a government decision at the Regeringen level, a municipal policy affecting local residents, an economic development with implications for Swedish households, or a cultural or social issue that deserves wider attention.

We are especially interested in policy developments that have not yet been reported elsewhere, public-interest stories that expose waste, mismanagement or injustice, and trends in Swedish society that affect how people live, work or relate to one another. Wirtschaftsquelle covers Sweden comprehensively, so a tip that connects a local issue to a national conversation is particularly valuable. If you have documentation, internal reports, correspondence or first-hand accounts that support your information, please include those as well. We also welcome tips about the Swedish economy, housing markets, labour policy, corporate behaviour and the financial pressures facing households. Cultural tips — exhibitions, literary developments, media trends, lifestyle shifts — are equally relevant when they reflect broader societal change. When in doubt, send it to us; our editorial team will assess whether it fits our coverage.

How can you reach us?

You can reach our editorial team by email at tips@wirtschaftsquelle.de for tip-offs, newsdesk@wirtschaftsquelle.de for story inquiries, and press@wirtschaftsquelle.de for press-related matters. For general contact, use info@wirtschaftsquelle.de.

If you have sensitive information that you prefer to share outside of email, please indicate that in your initial message and we will suggest a more secure channel. Our newsroom team monitors these inboxes daily during working hours, and we aim to acknowledge receipt of all tips within two business days. For urgent matters, you may also contact our Chefredaktör Daniel Simon directly at anders.lindqvist@wirtschaftsquelle.de or by phone at +46 8 525 030 61. You can find full contact details for the entire team on our Our Team page.

What should you include in your tip?

Include as much specific information as possible: the key facts, relevant dates, names of individuals or organisations involved, and any documentation or sources that support your account. Clear, concise information helps us assess your tip quickly and accurately.

If you are reporting a policy or legislative development, tell us which government body or committee is involved and what stage the process has reached. For economic or business tips, include company names, financial figures and any public filings you are aware of. For societal or cultural stories, explain the context and why you believe it matters to a Swedish or international audience. If you are submitting documents, please indicate their origin and whether they are publicly available. You do not need to be a professional journalist or researcher to send us a tip; we welcome contributions from all readers. What matters is that the information is concrete and that you are acting in good faith. If you are unsure what to include, just send what you have and we may follow up with questions.

How do we verify tips?

Every tip is assessed by our editorial team, and if it progresses to publication, it undergoes verification by our fact-checking desk led by Christina Scholz, who oversees source verification and corrections. Our verification process follows the standards set out in our Fact-Checking Policy.

We cross-check all factual claims against primary sources, public records, official documents and, where possible, independent corroboration. We may contact you for additional detail or clarification. If your tip involves a named individual or organisation, we will seek their comment before publication. Our team also reviews prior coverage and data from authoritative sources such as Statistics Sweden, government agencies and reputable research institutions. For a full explanation of how we handle sources and evidence, please see our Sources & Standards page. We do not publish tips that we cannot verify to a satisfactory standard, and we will be transparent with you about the outcome of our assessment.

Is my confidentiality protected?

We take your confidentiality seriously. Wirtschaftsquelle will not disclose your identity without your explicit consent, and we offer options for anonymous submission. Our commitment to source protection is a cornerstone of our editorial policy.

If you wish to remain anonymous, please state that clearly in your initial message. We will not ask for your real name unless it becomes essential to the verification process, and even then we will seek your permission first. Our team handles all correspondence with discretion, and we store tip-related communications securely. In rare cases where legal or regulatory obligations require us to disclose information, we will notify you in advance if we are permitted to do so. You can read more about our approach to source confidentiality in our Editorial Policy. If you have concerns about the security of digital communication, please let us know and we can discuss alternative methods.

What happens after I submit a tip?

After you submit a tip, our editorial team reviews it, assesses its newsworthiness and urgency, and may follow up with you for additional details before deciding on next steps. We aim to acknowledge receipt within two business days.

During the assessment phase, the tip is logged in our editorial system and assigned to the relevant desk — Politik, Wirtschaft or Kultur/Samhälle — for evaluation. The responsible editor will review the information, conduct preliminary checks and decide whether to pursue the story. If we need more from you, we will reach out. If we decide not to proceed, we will inform you and, where appropriate, explain why. Tips that lead to publication are subject to our full editorial process, including fact-checking, legal review and editorial oversight. We do not pay for tips, but we recognise the value of your contribution and will credit you in the story if you consent. You can track our editorial standards on our Complaints Procedure page.

What you can expect from us

You can expect a professional, ethical and timely response from our team. We treat every tip with respect and evaluate it on its merits, regardless of the source. Our editorial mission — trustworthy Swedish journalism without spin — guides everything we do.

We will not publish a story based on your tip without first verifying the core facts and, where appropriate, seeking comment from the relevant parties. We will keep you informed about the status of your submission if you have provided contact details. We will respect any conditions you place on the use of your information, including anonymity. We will correct any errors that arise from your tip promptly and transparently under our corrections policy. And we will never allow commercial or political considerations to affect our editorial judgement. If at any point you feel we have not lived up to these expectations, please contact our Chefredaktör Daniel Simon or our Redaktionschef Sandra Groß directly.

How do I submit a correction?

If you believe we have published inaccurate information, please email corrections@wirtschaftsquelle.de with the details, and we will review it under our corrections policy. Include the article title, the specific error and, if possible, the correct information and your source.

Our fact-checking desk, led by Christina Scholz, handles all correction requests. We aim to respond within three business days. If the correction is confirmed, we will update the article and publish a note explaining the change. Significant errors may also be noted in our corrections log. We take accuracy seriously and appreciate your help in maintaining our standards. Please see our full Corrections Policy for details on how we process and communicate corrections.
